Sham El Neseem is coming up and hoards of Egyptians will be headed to the coastal cities to have some fun in the sun. All of the close beach destinations: Ain Sokhna, Alexandria, North Coast and Ras Sidr will be teeming with people eager to get away from everyday life and splash in the sea. However, if you do not like crowded beaches, the smell of sweat mixed with iodine and screaming babies, then you will most likely stay in the city. But that does not mean there are not a lot of interesting things to do. Here is a list of a few things we recommend that will make sure you enjoy a delightful Sham El Neseem. According to Ministry of State for Antiquities (MSA) regulations, it is prohibited for anyone to announce a discovery before notifying and obtaining the approval of the Ministry first. This procedure is in place to ensure that any discoveries people want to announce are real and have been officially verified. If every mission authorized to carry out work in Egypt was allowed to announce things without them being checked first, there could potentially be lots of false claims made all the time. Sadly, this was the case with the BBC. I am disappointed that not only was the report published without the approval of the MSA, but also that its announcement was not accurate, showing how important it is to follow the proper protocol. The draft press release reported that 17 new pyramids and thousands of ancient Egyptian settlements have been discovered by the University of Alabama u

  http://www.egyptraveluxe.com/cairo_day_tour_to_pyramids_of_giza_and_egyptian_museum.php   Most of the photos in this tour were taken from the out of print 4 volume set  "Pyramidology"  by Adam Rutherford (released between 1957- 1972).  Adam Rutherford was one of the greatest Pyramidologists that ever lived.  These pages may take some time to load but I think it is worth the wait.   Before we enter the interior of the Great Pyramid, let us look at some EXTERIOR views.   The Great Pyramid of Giza stands on the northern edge of the Giza Plateau, located about 10 miles west of Cairo.  The Greeks listed the Great Pyramid of Giza as the first wonder of the world and it is the only one of the seven still remaining to this day. The Great Pyramid is composed of over 2 ½ million blocks of limestone which weigh from 2 to 70 tons each.  Its base covers over 13 acres and its volume is around 90,000,000 cubic feet.
